Everest
(Big Khumu) is one of the best trekking destinations in
the world. So many people take flight from Kathmandu to
Lukla. But if you need to be fit for accltitude. so if you
want do big khumbu trek and you have inof time the best
way take bus to Jiri and continues trek to Namche Bazar,
Thame, Renjo pass, gokyo valley, Chola pass, Kalapthar and
Everest Base camp.
Long journey to Jiri by local bus about seven to ten hours
depending on road conditions. There are no tourist bus
services available. The trek from Jiri to Everest (Big
khumbu) it is never flat as it crosses the grain of the
land for the first five days. The highest point reached
before Lukla is Lamjura La pass, which is at 3530 meters
above sea level. A highlight of the area around the
Lamjura La is the magnificent display of pink and lilac
rhododendrons in spring.
The trail passes through numerous settlements of different
ethnic groups including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin and
Chhetri and, of course, the Sherpa. So one week you will
spend blow 3500m and you have already good acclimatization
for such adventure high passes. This trek is one of the
most challenging routes in the Khumbu region. The trek
continues from Namche Bazaar via Thame and then goes over
Ranjo Pass to reach Gokyo and Gokyo RI. From Gokyo you
cross Nagozumda Glacier to Chola pass, and then we follow
the way to Everest Base Camp, KalaPathar to see the best
view of Mt. Everest and return to Lobuche crossing the
Phokolde Pass to the Chukung valley and continues trek
down via Tyangboche Monastery to Lukla. |
