COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Program 2020

The Year 2020 has been one of the worst phases in human life; it has indeed managed to take its toll. People, business sectors were vulnerable to its impact, and the challenges even to survive had spread out like anything. While the global pandemic - COVID 19 affected every business sector, the Tourism sector was no exception. The effect of the pandemic on tourism sectors from all around the world was very transparent. We all witnessed it. Many people lost their jobs while many are still on the verge of losing their jobs - every day!! Many Hotels, Airlines, Restaurants, Travel, and Trekking agencies shut down entirely since it was getting even more unpredictable. Even those who attempted to survive were also struggling hard to hold there.

Likewise, the life of our (Trip Himalaya Treks & Expedition) tour and Trekking Staff (Guides, Kitchen Crew, Helpers and other Staff) have also been poorly affected in every possible way. They have been sustaining their life all through (10 months now) with no job, and God knows for many months more! Thankfully, with a generous helping hand, we managed to help some of our staff cope with this phase for a few months.

Food Distribution at Rasuwa

On 7th Oct 2020, with the financial support of Claudia Schmid (www.bergfrau.ch) based in Switzerland, we went to Rasuwa, where most of our dwell there, to distribute food to the affected families. We managed to distribute 5200 kg Rice, 1040 Kg Dal (Lentil), 208-liter cooking oil, 208 kg Salt, and Soap and Masks. We gave out the list above of items among 26 different families, and we believe this can help each family sustain for four months. We heartily thank Claudia Schmid and the other sponsors responsible for the contribution.

Food Distribution at Dolpa

On 19th Nov, we managed to accomplish the second phase of food distribution at Dolpa, Nepal, with the Financial support of Berg Frau (www.bergfrau.ch). Berg Frau has distributed 2400 kg Rice, 300 kg Dal (Lentil), 96 liter of cooking oil, and 96 kg salt. We heartily thank Claudia Schmid and the other sponsors responsible for the contribution.

Baby Goat Distributing

On 27th Nov, again, we also distributed fifteen baby goats for livelihood to seven different families at Nau Kunda rural municipality, Rasuwa District, Nepal. We really believe it will be part of sustain for them farming by this goat. We heartily thank Claudia Schmid and the other sponsors responsible for the contribution.

With the kind help from Berg Frau (www.bergfrau.ch), we succeeded in distributing some aid. We distributed food supplies to thirty-nine different families of Mountain Tourism worker and from Trip Himalaya treks & expeditions. We supported six months of Room rent (Apartment/Flat) payments for five other families, and we also helped two separate families with four months of Room rent (Apartment/Flat) payments. We gave financial support to a cancer patient and an expecting mother. We also distributed fifteen baby goats for livelihood to seven different families at Nau Kunda rural municipality, Rasuwa District, Nepal.

While this help and support we all have extended may not be as significant enough, but we as the supporter are sure to make a little bit of a big difference in those affected lives.

Thank you, Claudia, for being a strong base and leading the way with many of the sponsors, and helping those in need. All of you have been such great help in changing many people's lives in need, even if it means for a few months. Each one of us is grateful for this kind gesture provided by you all.
