Trip Information

Langtang Lirung Expedition is the highest peak of the Langtang Himal, which is a subrange of the Nepalese Himalayas, southwest of the Eight-thousander Shisha Pangma.

Langtang Lirung peak was reconnoitered by H. W. Tilman and P. Lloyd in 1949. Attempts were made to climb the peak via the East Ridge in the 1960s, but none got close to the summit. In 1978, Seishi Wada and Pemba Tsering, from a Japanese-Sherpa expedition, succeeded in reaching the summit, via the same East Ridge route. They made four camps.

According to the Himalayan Index, there have been 14 ascents of Langtang Lirung mostly by the Southeast or Southwest Ridge routes; and 13 unsuccessful attempts on the peak. Mt. Langtang Lirung Expedition the best time is September October and April May.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01 : pick up from the International Airport and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02-03 : Kathmandu, sightseeing we will spend a couple of days organizing permits and sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley. The valley is the site of four ancient capitals with their attendant palaces, temples and squares, and the modern city's chaotic and fascinating streets, markets, shops and restaurants with intermingled Buddhist and Hindu temples can keep you occupied for days. One night there will be a welcome dinner. 
Day 04 : Drive to Shyabru Bensi (1462m).
Day 05 : Trek to Lama Hotel (2240m) overnight in lodge.
Day 06 : Lang tang Village (3307m) overnight in lodge.
Day 07 : Kyanzin Gompa (3049m) overnight in lodge.
Day 08 : Kyangjin Gomba, Rest for acclimatization.
Day 09 : Lang tang Lirung Base Camp 4000m.
Day 10-25 : Climbing Period Langtang Lirung.
Day 26 : Cleaning up Base Camp.
Day 27 : Lang tang Village Overnight in lodge.
Day 28 : Lama Hotel Overnight in lodge.
Day 29 : Shyabru Bensi Overnight in lodge.
Day 30 : Drive back to Kathmandu Transfer to hotel.
Day 31 : Rest free day in Kathmandu and farewell Diner.
Day 32 : Transfer to International Airport and Back to Home.
